These three costumes were a huge achievement for me. Not only were they made in a short amount of time, but I learned how to do various things when making them. That's my friend Alana Fleichman (Yuuhi) on the left, Me (Ushio) in the middle, and my friend Kayla Brink (Minami) on the right. The photograph was taken by my friend Drew Mattingly. Everything we are wearing was designed and made by me, with help from my siblings on the weapons. The concept comes from the Japanese Anime, Neo Ranga.
I'll go into more detail on the costumes on the individual photos of them. But overall, the red paint is latex, I sewed all of the outfits without patterns (the one on the left came out like shit, so we're not even going to talk about it). I made jewelry from thick wire, aluminum flashing, and pleather. The scythe was made with a cardboard cutout glued to a thick plastic tube. It is two parts, the blade on the top being set on a piece of plywood nailed to another piece that is made to fit inside the plastic tube, two pins to fasten it. The blade is also made out of cardboard. The sword was simple, just cardboard cut to the right shape and glued to a piece of pvc pipe. The shield is made with a wooden frame (my brother made it) and pieces of cardboard nailed to either side. All of the weapons were covered with papermache and then spraypainted gray. A silver paint was used to accent the blades and then each of us painted on archaic symbols for decoration on our own weapons.
Yeah this is the one I saw before. Looks a lot better full size and seems brighter than the other downsampled one I saw. I don't see any problem with the outfit on the left, maybe a different angle? Anyway nice job with the costumes, just like all the other cosplay outfits I've seen pictures of you in.
